Not the killer app but a reference implmentation / proof of concept and a nerdy and ambitious attempt at aggregating trusted, ranked metadata

My "nerd" network is meant to challenge me. Its book recommendations are not based on an affinity for similar content but rather its members are folks I know well and respect. In case they recommend something that surprises me, I'll pay attention, maybe even learn something.

I chose the word "nerd" because although I love my family and friends, I don't expect to learn this type of thing from many of them. I felt that it would be insulting to say that they're not friends or to not follow them on social contexts, but how offensive is it really to not be a nerd, right?
